2017 Auditions for 2018 Orchestra

2018 is going to be a very busy year for the EUYO, with two major projects in spring and summer and several smaller projects throughout the year.

The Spring Tour programme - conducted by our Chief Conductor Vasily Petrenko - will include Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2. There will be a European residency and concerts, and also a major concert and education residency outside of Europe. It is therefore important that you have a passport that is valid until at least mid April 2018 should you be selected for the EUYO 2018 Orchestra as we will need to apply for visas for members immediately after the new Orchestra is agreed.

The Summer Tour next year will include residencies in Grafenegg, Austria and Bolzano, Italy and concerts in major European festivals and venues to include Austria, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland and the UK. We will be working with two conductors, Manfred Honeck and Gianandrea Noseda. The repertoire will include Richard Strauss’s Rosenkavalier Suite, operatic arias, Respighi’s Pines of Rome, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5.  Soloists will include a recent Warsaw competition prize winner and some renowned singers.

Spring Tour dates including travel days: 19 March to 18 April

Summer Tour dates including travel days: 16 July to 25 August

Please note that the dates can always change slightly!
