Monday 24 October 2022 - The EUYO today announces that current board member Ewa Bogusz-Moore is appointed as the Orchestra’s new Co-Chair with immediate effect, working alongside existing Co-Chair Martijn Sanders. Sir John Tusa, who has served as Co-Chair since 2014, steps down from the board to become a member of the Orchestra’s Advisory Council.
Martijn Sanders, EUYO Board Co-Chair celebrated Sir John Tusa’s tenure and Ewa Bogusz-Moore’s new appointment, saying: “We owe Sir John an enormous thanks for the efficient and elegant way he has led the Board of the EUYO for almost a decade. We will miss him tremendously. We look forward to co-share the Board with Ewa, who has proven to be a very valuable member of the Board which she joined two years ago.”
Sir John Tusa commented, “It has been an honour and a privilege to sit on the EUYO Board for the past eight years. I am deeply grateful for the cooperation I had as Co-Chair first with Sir Ian Stoutzker and then with Martijn Sanders. The EUYO is blessed with a committed Board and a devoted and tireless executive team led by the Secretary General, Marshall Marcus. I know that the EUYO, a beacon of musical excellence and expression of the finest European ideals will continue to flourish under the Co-Chairmanship of Martijn Sanders and Ewa Bogusz-Moore."

Ewa Bogusz-Moore is general director of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. In April 2019 she was invited to join the European Concert Hall Organization, and in February 2020 joined the EUYO board. Previously she was a deputy director at the Adam Mickiewicz Institute where she was entrusted with developing the strategy for promoting Polish classical music throughout the world. Her business model of the “Polska Music” programme encouraged international cooperation, working with music organisations including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, Berliner Philharmoniker, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Royal Opera House, and Cité de la Musique in Paris. On behalf of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, she coordinated the celebrations of Witold Lutosławski’s Year and was the manager of I, CULTURE Orchestra, an educational orchestral project supporting development in Eastern Europe. Ewa works in orchestral management, creating and supporting musical projects with prominent organizations around the world. Her passion is for combining the transformative power of the arts with effective business acumen.
