26/11/16 - It gives us great pleasure to announce impending performances in the United Arab Emirates by the European Union Youth Orchestra's Brass and Percussion Ensemble, as part of an international festival under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, celebrating the 45th anniversary of the founding of the UAE.
On 1 December 2016, members of the EUYO will perform in Abu Dhabi's National Theatre and subsequently, on 3 December, in Dubai. We should like to thank the UAE's Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development and the EU's UAE delegation office for their support and help in making these performances possible.
We are delighted to be returning to the United Arab Emirates following the EUYO’s Arab world debut in 2014 at the Abu Dhabi Festival, a visit made possible by the generous invitation and support of the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, and in particular, by its Founder, H.E. Hoda l. Al Khamis-Kanoo.
The December 2016 performances will feature music specially programmed for the anniversary festival, with compositions from Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Italy, UK and the US, performed by Austrian, Belgian, Bulgarian, Danish, Italian, Hungarian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish and UK EUYO members.
