Johanna Kulke studies the violin in Lucerne with Ina Dimitrova. She won many prizes at the Swiss Youth Music Competition and performed as a soloist with the Youth Symphony Orchestra Bern, many regional Swiss orchestras and in January 2021 she was asked to perform Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the Junge Philharmonie Zentralschweiz.
Various tours have taken her with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, the Youth Symphony Orchestra Bern, the Lucerne Chamber Philharmony and other orchestras through Europe, Russia and China. She took part in the Davos Festival Academy in 2020.
Johanna Kulke is concertmaster of the Youth Symphony Orchestra Bern since 2019 and plays as a trainee in the Bern Symphony Orchestra in the season 2020/21.
In addition to the violin, she studied piano with Konstantin Lifschitz and composition with Dieter Ammann. Johanna Kulke premiered her composition ‘SOLO’ for violin solo at the final concert of the ‘Akademie für zeitgenössische Musik Luzern’ in February 2020.
Various master classes, amongst others with Melise Mellinger, Stefan Wirth, Dmitri Kourliandsi, Priya Mitchell, Gyula Stuller, Valery Sokolov and Bernd Glemser, complement her musical education. She is a scholarship holder of the Hirschmann Foundation.
