Augustas Gocentas is a Lithuanian cellist born in a family full of musicians. He started playing cello and piano at the age of seven and in 2016 started his bachelor’s degree in cello performance at the Sibelius Academy in prof. Martti Rousi class.
Augustas began his musical career in 2004. In the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, where he studied cello in Ramutė Kalnėnaitė's class. He also learned to play the piano at the same school for 11 years. In 2016 he received his secondary education diploma at the Čiurlionis School of Arts. At that time, he had already been awarded various prizes from 10 competitions, invited to festivals, given concerts with Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and St. Christopher Orchestra.
Since studying in Finland, the cellists have been invited to many other festivals, such as the Encuentro de Santander in Santander (Spain), Super Cello in Beijing (China), Cello Festival Qingdao (China) and won competitions such as 10th K. Davydov in Kuldiga (Latvia) and 9 -as A. Dambrovsky m. Riga, Kuldiga.
Augustas plays cello ‘’Blanchard’’, a generous loan from Sibelius academy.
