Biel Ricart Gélinas
Biel Ricart Gélinas, born in Barcelona in 2001, began studying the violin at the age of 4. He graduated from IEA Oriol Martorell conservatory (Barcelona) with Heriberto Fonseca in 2019 obtaining a special honour prize. At that period he also received regular classes from Aleksandar Krapovsky and Helena Satué.
He is currently in his third year of the National Superior Professional Diploma of Musician at the CNSMD of Lyon (France) with Marianne Piketty, Manuel Solans and Harvey de Souza as main teachers. He receives regular classes from Yovan Markovich (from Quatuor Danel) in chamber music and he is also studying string quartet at the Conservatory of Paris (CRR) with Luc-Marie Aguera.
He has been finalist of the BBVA interpretation prize in 2018 and he won first prize in Girona Music Competition (2017) and Barcelona Sant Gregori Violin competition (2016). He has participated in masterclasses with Nicolas Chumachenco, Guillaume Sutre, Marie Chilemme, Vera Martinez Mehner, J. Young Baek among others in different festivals (Pablo Casals Festival in Prades or Music à Flaine International String Quartet Festival). He has played with JONC (Youth National Catalan Orchestra) between 2017 and 2019 where he was concertmaster in 2017.
