Filipa Rodrigues

Filipa Isabel Correia Rodrigues began her musical studies with 8 years old, in Conservatório Regional de Setúbal, Portugal. Initially she started her musical path with the violin, but later she decided that she didn’t really like the violin so she changed to viola, where she could feel the warmth of the c string. Later on she pursued her studies in Conservatório Nacional, in Lisbon with Ricardo Mateus.
Filipa has been in several masterclasses and private lessons with Sandra Martins, Ricardo Mateus, Pedro Meireles, Ceciliu Isfan, Paul Wakabayashi, Samuel Barsegian, Pedro Muñoz, Ellen Nisbeth, Ricardo Gaspar, António Pereira,Gerárd Caussé, Aida-Carmen Soanea, Tatjana Masurenko, Veronika Hagen, Hélène Clément, Leo DeNeve, Peijun Xu and Matthias Buchholz.
Filipa has also been in multiple orchestras such as Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa (JOP is the Portuguese member of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras), Member of Orquestra Jovem.com, Macao Youth Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil (OSJ) since 2016, in which she has been awarded in 2018 with a scholarship from Banco Carregosa, and in 2019 with a scholarship from Gestão dos Direitos dos Artistas (GDA) and was in the position of Viola Section Leader for two years.
As a result of these collaborations she has worked with a variety of conductors like Kerem Hasan, Cristopher Bochmann, Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Vasco Pierce de Azevedo, Dinis Sousa, Nuno Coelho, Fernando Marinho, Ernst Schelle, Joana Carneiro, Pedro Carneiro, Fernando Marinho,Jan Wierzba, Alexander Rumpf and Bar Avni.
In competitions she won an honorable mention and the 2nd prize in concurso da cidade do Montijo.
Currently she is in Germany in the second year of Bachelor in Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln tutored by Prof. Matthias Buchholz.
