Elias Samuel Rodehorst

Elias Samuel Rodehorst, born in 1997 in Hannover, Germany, started playing the tuba at the age of twelve.

After he finished school in 2016 he went for a year of work and travel to Australia, Bali and New Zealand where he among other things worked in a boarding school for Aborigine-Kids in Darwin, Northern Territory.
When he returned in 2017 to Hannover he started studying mechanical engineering at the Hochschule Hannover but felt unfullfilled by it. During his time abroad he realised his passion towards music and decided now to stop his studies and to prepare for the auditions at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, which he passed in 2018.
Here he started to study under his first tuba teacher Prof. Jens Björn-Larsen in the Bachelor of education with English as his second field.
Until this point he only played the Contrabasstuba in Bb and started playing the Basstuba in F shortly after the beginn of his studies.
In 2020 he changed into the Bachelor of Musical Performance to concentrate on his development on the tuba.

In November of 2021 Elias won the academy position in the Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he started his education under Vikentios Gionanidis in January 2022. Shortly after Elias became a member of the EUYO.
