Jorge Durana Rebollar

Jorge Durana Rebollar was born in Miranda de Ebro, Spain (1999). Since he was a child he began receiving music theory and solfege at the Miranda school of music, while he already started playing percussion with the municipal band from an early age.

At the age of 12, continuing with his academic training, he entered at the Jesús Guridi conservatory of Vitoria. It was at this center that he became increasingly interested in the world of the music. He obtained several prizes as a solo percussionist in the Youth Contest Interpreters of the Basque Country (2017-2018) and another chamber music award thanks to the duo formed with Iker Iriondo (2018). During these years he also participated with the Young Orchestra Euskadi student (2017-2018). Since 2018 he is a member of the Gregorio Solabarrieta Chamber Orchestra and he also participated with professional groups such as the Banda de Vitoria, Camerata-Gasteiz, Bilbao Symphony Band, Donostiarra Choir, Musikene Symphony Orchestra among others.

In 2018 he decides to move to San-Sebastián to continue studying percussion at Musikene, with professors Javier Alonso, Javier Azanza, Antonio Domingo and Lorenzo Ferrándiz, and currently he is attending the last year of the degree. During this period he was able to perform concerts in the center with directors of the stature of Juanjo Mena, Arturo Tamayo, José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana, Nacho de Paz…

In 2020-2022 he enters as a reserve member of the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC). A year later he joined the Euskadi Youth Orchestra (EGO), having the opportunity to participate in the San-Sebastián Musical Fortnight festival, under the baton of Gustavo Gimeno and with international soloist Julian Rachlin.
Other teachers who have also influenced his training since early age Eduardo Díez, Félix Divar and Gorka Catediano, and in percussion masterclasses with Bence Major, Nick Woud, Marinus Komst and Markus Leoson
