Vicent Catalán Giménez

Vicent was born in 1998 in La Vall d’Uixó, (Castellón, Spain) and he started playing the percussion at the age of seven. He did his Bachelor studies at "Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón" (CSMA), with teachers César Peris, Francisco Inglés, Lucía Carro and Verónica Cagigao. He is now studying at "Percusons Academy" with teachers Gratiniano Murcia, Vicent Vinaixa and Ignasi Domenech. Moreover, he has assisted to different masterclasses with percussionists such as Raymond Curffs, Bart Jansen, Guido Rückel, Simone Rubino, Nick Woud, Marinus Komst or Conrado Moya.

He is member of the EUYO, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the Mahler Academy and the "Joven Orquesta Nacional de España" (JONDE). He has also been member of the "Orquesta Freixenet" (ESMRF), "Orquesta Joven de la Sinfónica de Galícia", "Jove Orquestra de Castelló", and "Jove Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana". Moreover, he has played with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and, since January 2022, he has been playing as an extra musician with the "Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears".

He has played as a soloist in the "Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria" , in the “Sala Mozart” (Zaragoza), and in the chamber hall of the "Auditori de Castelló".

He has played under the baton of musical directors such as Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Pablo Heras-Casado, Andrés Orozco, Peter Eotvos, Plácido Domingo, Pablo Gonzalez, Jose Luis López or Pablo Rus. He has also played with soloists such as Simone Rubino, Giovanni Guzzo, Eva Rabchevska or Alejandro Viana.
