Elliott Gaston-Ross

Elliott Gaston-Ross is a 23 year old British/Irish percussionist currently studying for his Master’s Degree in Percussion at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, Austria. He received a First-Class Honours in both his Bachelor’s Degree in Percussion and Master’s Degree in Orchestral Studies at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität under the tuition of Professors Bogdan Bacanu for marimba and Leonhard Schmidinger for timpani and percussion.

Elliott has won prizes in prestigious competitions including the BBC Young Musician 2014 Competition (Percussion Winner and Concerto Finalist), the Percussive Linz International Marimba Competition 2015 (‘Special Prize’) and the TROMP International Percussion Competition Eindhoven 2018 (3rd Prize and Jan Pustjens Press Prize). In 2021, he was selected as a Solo Artist with the World Percussion Group.

As an orchestral percussionist/timpanist, Elliott has performed in many of Europe’s most renowned concert halls. He participated in the London Symphony Orchestra Timpani and Percussion Academy 2013 and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain 2013 to 2015 and the Euphony Central European Youth Orchestra 2016 and 2018. From 2017 to 2019, he held the Percussion Academy position with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and currently holds a full time one-year contract with the orchestra. Most recently, Elliott has been selected as a member of the 2022 European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO).
