Antonio Argantino

Antonio was born on 19/05/1998 in Catanzaro in Italy. He obtained the I level academic diploma in percussion instruments at the “Fausto Torrefranca” conservatory in Vibo Valentia with Maestro Vittorino Naso, where he currently attends the two-year specialization in percussion instruments. He attended the advanced training course at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Maestro Edoardo Albino Giachino, percussionist of the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia. In 2019 he obtained the second place in the "VII International Music Competition Magna Graecia" in the chamber music section (percussion duo). In 2021 he won the online edition of the "Magna Graecia Music Competition" in the chamber music section (percussion duo). He has held various masterclasses of percussion instruments with various Masters: Gregory Lecoeur, Gilson Silveira, Dom Famularo, Frederic Macarez, Sergio Quarta, Beppe Vessicchio. In the orchestral field he has collaborated with the Magna Grecia Orchestra, the Calabrian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, the Orchestra Excellence, the Orchestra of the Lerici Music Festival, the Monferrato Classic Orchestra, Orchestra "Greece", the National Symphony Orchestra of the Italian Conservatories, the Youth Orchestra of Bologna, the Mediterranean Sinfonietta Orchestra, the Sicilian Youth Orchestra, with conductors such as Antonio Pappano, Luigi Piovano, Juraj Valcuha, Volodymir Runchak, Filippo Arlia , Riccardo Frizza, Stanislav Kochanovski, Simone Menezes, Alessandro Ferrari, Gianluca Marcianò, Sergey Smbatyan, Daniele Rustioni, Andreas Ottensamer, Giulio Arnofi, Vitali Alekseenok, Pablo Urbina, Alberto Veronesi, Benedetto Montebello, Leonardo De Amicis, Simone Genuini, Alessandro Pinzauti, Salvatore Percacciolo. He is part of the percussion duo "Argantino - D'Amico" and of the percussion ensemble "Fausto Torrefranca" with whom he played various concerts in the concert seasons of auditoriums and theaters of the Calabrian landscape. He was a teacher of percussion instruments at the "L. Vinci ”of Roccabernarda (KR). In 2021 he won the audition for percussion, with the obligation of hitting keyboard instruments at the Orchestra della Magna Grecia and obtained the eligibility for the audition for percussion with obligation of the second tympanum at the D'Este Symphony Orchestra and the 'eligibility to audition for Timpani / Percussion at the Infinitude Orchestra. From January 2022 full member of Euyo - The European Union Youth Orchestra.
