Elena Manrique Izquierdo
Elena Manrique Izquierdo (1997, Madrid) is a Spanish cellist currently living in Germany. She is an Academist in the Staatskapelle Weimar since September of 2021, where she is furthering her education and gaining experience as an orchestra player. She recently finished her postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ in Leipzig with Professor Peter Bruns. Before that she studied since she was 17 with Asier Polo and María Casado in Madrid, completing in 2019 her Bachelor‘s degree in Classical Music Performance at the University „Alfonso X el Sabio“ with the same Professors.
Her orchestral experience started at age 17 with the Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, and at age 20 she auditioned and got into the Spanish National Youth Orchestra, where she has played several times until 2020, and where she discovered her passion for big ensembles and orchestra playing.
