Serena Fantini was born in Rimini, Italy in 2003 and at the age of 6 she started to study cello in the CEMI-SUZUKI course and continued in 2013 with Prof. Marianne Chen at Istituto Musicale Pareggiato “Vecchi-Tonelli” Modena. From 2019 to 2021 she attended the class of Hannah Eichberg at Julius Stern Institut of Udk (Berlin) and she’s currently studying for her Bachelor Degree at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin in the class of Prof. Frans Helmerson.
Serena won prizes in many competitions like ”International Young Talent Music Competition Belgium” in Antwerpen, Scholarship entitled to Maura Giorgetti from Filarmonica della Scala, “Premio delle Arti”, "Concorso Giovani Talenti Femminili della musica", Soroptimist International Association, Mazzacurati competition and Janigro Junior Competition. She participated in Festivals like Zephyr Chamber Music Festival and Kronberg Academy Masterclasses and concerts.
She performed as a soloist with Orchestras like “St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra”, Brandeburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt and Preußischen Kammerorchester Frankfurt under the direction of conductors like Yuri Serov and Jürgen Bruns.
Serena attended several masterclasses taught by Professors Thomas Demenga, Jens Peter Maintz, Natalia Gutman, Mario Brunello and Enrico Dindo.
