Simon Torunczyk

Simon Torunczyk entered the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in 2014 in classical double bass and obtained his Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) in 2019. He then entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2021 in Classical Double Bass. 

He entered the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in 2017 in Jazz double bass and obtained his Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) in 2020. He then entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2020 in Jazz Double Bass. 

He was selected two consecutive years to play in the Verbier Festival 2017 and 2018 edition, with the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra. He then played in the first edition of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Young during summer 2019, and was selected to take part to the Orchestre Français des Jeunes (OFJ) in the years 2020 and 2021. In 2022, he was picked as a member of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France Academy for the 2022/2023 season, was selected to take part to the 2022 European Union Youth Orchestra summer tour. and won the second prize of the Concours de Cordes d’Epernay.
