Luís Diz was born in 1997, in Coimbra, Portugal. He began his musical studies at the Coimbra`s Music Conservatory, at the age of 11 in the Horn class of Ivan Kücera.
In 2015 he obtained 1st place in the Finalist Students Contest of the Coimbra`s Music Conservatory (CAF).
He graduated from Lisbon High Music School (ESML) in the class of Paulo Guerreiro and in the last year of his graduation he did an Erasmus program at the Leipzig´s University (Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy), where he also completed the 4th year of his Bachelor with Thomas Hauschild.
Currently, at the same university, he is attending his Master`s degree.
He gathered his orchestral experience in the Young Portuguese Orchestra (JOP), Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, of which he is a permanent member, with “Neue Philharmonie München” as a guest, and, nowadays, in Deutsche Opera Berlin.
He had the opportunity to work with several eminent teachers, such us Froydis Ree Wekre, Ricardo Matosinhos, Abel Pereira, Kerry Turner, Hermann Baumann, Bohdan Sebestik, Szabolcs Zempléni, Zdenek Divoky, Jiri Havlik, Jindrich Petráse, Willers, Radovan Vlatkovic, Markus Maskuniitty, Stefan Jezierski, Thomas Hauschild, Marie Louise Neunecker, Radek Baborák, among others.
At the moment, he won an academic place in Deutsche Opera Berlin.
