Federico Altare

Federico is an Italian flutist currently living and studying in Paris. After his diploma in Italy, Federico obtained (thanks to the support of the association "De Sono") his bachelor degree in CODARTS Rotterdam, where he studied with Juliette Hurel, Julie Moulin and Wim Steinmann, and he also studied orchestra conducting with Hans Leenders. He is now following the master courses in Flute (with Sophie Cherrier) and the bachelor courses in Chamber Music (with Itamar Golan and Emanuelle Bertrand) in CNSM de Paris. Besides his orchestral experience (having been academist for Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and played with several orchestras in the Netherlands, in Germany and in France), he is very curious about new music, which led him to an internship with Ensemble Intercontemporain, and baroque music, which he is studying also in CNSM with Jan De Winne. He has performed in the most prestigious European halls (Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wiener Musikverein, Philharmonie Paris, Opera Garnier, De Doelen Rotterdam) and recently debuted as a "concertante" conductor.
