Nicolas Fromonteil

Lulled by his mother who was a violist amateur, Nicolas Fromonteil started to play the instrument at the age of four. Two years later, he joined the class of Jacques Borsarello at the CRR of Versailles, where he studied for ten years.
After having studied three years with Claire Merlet, he joined the conservatory of Paris in the class of Jean Sulem, Marc Desmons and Odile Auboin. At the CNSMDP, he had the chance to work with Diana Ligeti, Michel Michalakakos, François Salque, Michaël Hentz...
During the same period, he started to play baroque viola with Christophe Robert and Francois Fernandez, which give him the chance to play with the Arts Florissants, directed by William Christie, and with the orchestra of the ""Opera of Versailles"". He also had the opportunity to play as viola solo of the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, notably performing at the Philharmonie of Paris.
Currently in his second year at the CNSMDP, he took part in the creation of the Zied Quartet.
