Severi Huhdanpää

Severi Huhdanpää is an 16 years old Helsinki based double bass player. Huhdanpää started his studies at East Helsinki Music Institute in 2013 with Tarja Nyberg. Since 2021 Huhdanpää has studied at Sibelius Academy youth department with Lasse Lagercrantz. He has played as a soloist with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in 2017 and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2019. In 2021 Huhdanpää won the first prize at the Youth National Double Bass Competition of Finland. Huhdanpää has also studied at Aapo Juutilainen, Maria Krykov and Janne Saksala master classes of double bass. Huhdanpää has played at Helsinki Strings 2020-2022 and now he is a member of Symphony orchestra Vivo.
