Manca Kosmač

Manca Kosmač began her musical career with the violin at the Music School of the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana under Prof. Polona Češarek. She continued her education at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet with Prof. Janez Podlesek. After completing her music diploma in 2021, she successfully passed the viola entrance exam to the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, where this year she is attending the second year of her bachelor's degree in the class of Prof. Maja Rome.
At the TEMSIG competition (competition of young musicians of the Republic of Slovenia) she achieved gold prize with piano trio in the discipline of chamber groups with strings (2017), silver plaque in violin (2018), second prize in the category of chamber groups with strings (2020), silver plaque in violin (2021). She also participates in orchestral ensembles; summer Music School- Orchestra Camp (2016-18), KR BIS BAND Orchestra (2019), DIC orchestra (2019) and Conservatoire and Academy Student Orchestra. She is also a member of the SMO Orchestra, the first national youth orchestra in Slovenia. Since 2019, Manca has been a violist in the Slovenian summer project called Music of Youth, with which she is concerting all over Slovenia. Since 2018 she is a member of the string ensemble Camerata Laibach, with which she has won outstanding prizes at home and abroad; second prize at the online competition Ensemble music festival Toronto, Canada, first prize at the online Rudolf Barshai international competition in Russia, first prize at the online competition Musical Lace in Idrija, Slovenia and first prize at the Grand Prix Winner at the Astana Stars Competition. Manca often occasionally participates in Slovenian orchestras (RTV Slovenia, SNG Opera Maribor). She attended seminars with Prof. Janez Podlesek, Prof. Rok Zgonc, Prof. Wonji Kim Ozim, Prof. Anke Schittenhelm, Prof. Raphael Kasprian, Prof. Nobuko Imai, Prof. Megumi Kasakawa, Prof.  Emile Samama Cantor and others.
