Telmo Alexandre Cota Rocha

Born in 2003 (Terceira, Azores, Portugal), Telmo Alexandre Cota Rocha started his studies at Conservatório Regional de Angra do Heroísmo, with Edgar Marques. He is currently studying with professors Paulo Guerreiro and Luís Vieira at Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa.
During his path he attended masterclasses with outstanding horn
players such as Luís Sousa,
Bernardo
Silva, Paulo Guerreiro, Luís Vieira, Nuno Vaz, Bohdan Sebestik,
Adrian Martinez, and Sarah Willis. He also worked with renowned conductors standing
out Fernando Marinho,
Osvaldo Ferreira, José Eduardo Gomes, Nikolay Lalov, Tobias Wogerer, Teodor Currentzis and Jukka-Pekka Saraste.
He has been playing with several orchestras, having collaborated
with several projects since the creation of new groups and ensembles, and tours
around Europe.
He has collaborated in the creation of new music having contact
with composers of the new generation. Premiered and recorded some of the music
of these new composers.
He was awarded in some of the most important competitions in
Portugal and he won the Barry Tuckwell Foundation Scholarship in 2022.
