Annika Toth

Annika Toth was born in 2002 in Tulln, Austria. She started her musical education with violin lessons at the age of three and stayed with her first teacher, Isabel Schneider, until 2017. From a young age she also received education in chamber music, orchestra, and piano. At the age of 15 she was accepted to the pre-study program at University of Music and performing Arts Vienna. In 2021 she continued her studies in the class of Josef Hell and additionally started her bachelor in instrumental pedagogy at MDW.
Orchestral playing always played an important role in her musical education. She took part in many state and national youth orchestras and could already gain a lot of experience as concertmaster in different orchestras in Austria. Orchestra tours have so far brought her to France, Italy, Poland, Iceland, and China. 
The young violinist is very passionate about chamber music and has already played in several ensembles in her musical career. Most importantly, she played string quartet from the very start and received several first prices from the national music competition Prima La Musica in the category chamber music. She also participated in string quartet masterclasses, such as ISA, and received lessons from Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Vida Vujic and Patrick Jüdt, to name a few. 
In addition, she also received artistic impulses from Anna Gutowska and Thomas Fheodoroff and participated in masterclasses with Pierre Amoyal, Arkardij Winokurow, Christian Altenburger, Edward Zienkowski and Christian Ostertag. Furthermore, she participated and won prices at national and international violin competitions, such as Zhuhai Mozart Competition, International Competition of Bohan Warchal, Prof. Dichler Wettbewerb and Prima La Musica.
