Helen Leitner
Helen Leitner began professional life as a harpist, freelancing widely (Oslo Philharmonic, Bolshoi Ballet, Bavarian State Opera, Royal Philharmonic…) and with two years as Principal with the Niederbayerische Philharmonie (DE). Moving into management, she spent over a decade in instrument manufacture, becoming Artist Relations Manager at Camac Harps, France. This position allowed her to work on all manner of sponsorship projects: international, national and regional competitions, festivals throughout Europe, Asia and the USA, summer schools for elite talent, special tours celebrating the work of music teachers, and community and outreach initiatives. They all developed Helen’s keen interest in how musicians succeed and are supported in their careers, and her passion for communicating about why and how music enriches people’s lives.
Helen studied at Oxford, the Royal College of Music, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and recently completed her MBA at Warwick Business School. She was appointed Head of Communications and Advocacy for the EUYO in May 2023.
