Born in 2000 into a family of violinists, Lyusi Hovhannesyan took violin classes with her father and Professor Robert Hovhannesyan starting from a young age.
Since October of 2019 , she has begun her Bachelor studies with Prof. Barnabas Kelemen, in HfMT Cologne, Germany.
Lyusi has regularly performed as a recital soloist with outstanding repertoire as well as performed in various concert venues around Europe as a "Cyprus Young String Soloists" ensemble member.
In June 2014 at the age of 13, Lyusi had her debut performing Paganini’s “ ‘Moses ‘ Variations on G string” as a soloist with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Moreover, in March 2016 she was chosen to participate and attend a violin Master Class by Maestro Salvatore Accardo in Nicosia (Cyprus).
In May 2016, she participated in her very first competition aged 15 and won the 1st Prize in the “ 3rd Avaton Young Performers Competition of Contemporary Music” in Limassol (Cyprus). In the following year of May 2017, when Paphos (Cyprus) was the "European Capital of Culture", she was given the opportunity to participate in the project called “United by Music” with the Berliner Philharmoniker in collaboration with the Bi-Communal "Cyprus Chamber Orchestra". That is where her love for Orchestra and Chamber music sparked and her journey began.
Lyusi Hovhannesyan has joined the European Union Youth Orchestra in the Summer of 2017 at just 16 years old, and has been an active member ever since, participating in the amazing Tours and Projects alongside with remarkable artists and musicians. Through EUYO, she has gained unimaginable experience in the field of music making and teamwork, ambitiously striving to always learn more and move forward.
