Pedro Marques began his musical studies in the schoolyear 2005/2006, at the age of seven.
He has attended Masterclasses with teachers such as Ivo-Jan Van der Werff, Hellen Callus, Avri Levitan, Tatjana Masurenko, Gerard Caussé and Ana Bela Chaves. He has also worked with violists such as Anna Bastow, Bob Smissen, Roger Benedict, Thomas Selditz and Pascal Siffert in informal types of classes. Pedro has worked under conductors such as Pablo Heras-Casado, Pedro Carneiro, Gianandrea Noseda, Jean-Sebastien Béreau, Manfred Honeck, Rui Pinheiro, Rafael Agulló Albors, Vasily Petrenko, José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana, Manuel Hernández Silva and Stéphane Denève.
His orchestral activity is frequent, having been part of ochestras such as the Portuguese Youth Orchestra, the Spanish National Youth Orchestra, The Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, and is currently, since 2018, a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra. In portugal he frequently collaborates with Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa and Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras in professional context.
In 2015 he won the second prize of the 1st edition of the Concurso Nacional de Cordas Vasco Barbosa. In 2016 he won the internal contests of strings and chamber music of Conservatório de Música do Porto.
He is currently finishing his Masters degree in Departamento de Comunicação e Arte da Universidade de Aveiro, and also studying viola in Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien with Thomas Selditz.
