Prof. Dr. Tobias Wollermann

Tobias Wollermann studied music and physics at the University of Osnabrück. After graduation he worked as a research assistant at Zentrum virtUOS and at the Research Center for Music and Media Technology (FMT), where he completed his PhD on "Music and Medium - History of Development of Analogue and Digital Storage, Publication and Distribution of Music-Specific Information" in 2005 with the distinction "summa cum laude".

In 2004 Tobias Wollermann took up the post of study program manager of the artistic program “Popmusikdesign” at Popakademie Baden-Württemberg. Here he initiated and led many projects, including Xpress Yourself (in cooperation with Deutsche Post DHL), School of Rock (in cooperation with BASF SE) and the internationalization of the study program.

From 2008 till 2020 Tobias Wollermann has been managing director of the project The Young ClassX, which was initiated by the Otto Group and Salut Salon. He represents the Otto Group at the "Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft im BDI e. V." (Association of Arts and Culture of the German Economy at the Federation of German Industries e. V.) where he is chairman of the music department. He is a member of the Committee for Culture and Economics of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and board member of several German music foundations. In addition he teaches at the Institute for Cultural and Media Management (KMM) at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg (University of Music and Theatre Hamburg).

Since 2020 he is Vice President Corporate Responsibility of the Otto Group.
