Alberto Sánchez García

Alberto Sánchez (1998, Madrid) started playing clarinet when he was 7 years old in Illescas, Toledo (Spain). His first steps were under the guidance of Carlos Pérez and Gemma González.
Graduated from his bachelor’s degree in 2020 in the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, with Prof. Justo Sanz, and recently graduated from his masters’ studies in 2022 in Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Arno Piters as main professor, and receiving lessons from Davide Lattuada and Harmen de Boer. During his academic years he also attended several masterclasses with Matthias Schorn, Calogero Palermo, Paul Meyer, Phillipe Berrod, Vicente Alberola, etc.
In competitions he has won awards as: first prize in the III International Bass clarinet competition in Ávila, Spain, in 2018 and in 2019 he won first prize in the V International Clarinet competition ‘’Villa de Ourense’’, in Ourense, Spain.
He is a member of the EUYO (European Union Youth Orchestra) in 2023, as well as in 2019-2021, member of GMJO (Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester) in 2022, NJO (Nationaal Jeugdorkest) in 2022, JONDE (Spanish Youth Orchestra) from 2018 to 2022. At the same time, he has done collaborations with professional orchestras like Concertgebouworkest, Phion, orkest van Gelderland & Overijssel, Residentie Orkest Den Haag, ORCAM (Orquesta y Coro de la comunidad de Madrid). In these orchestras, he has been working with conductors such as Teodor Currentzis, Marin Alsop, Vasily Petrenko, Stéphane Denève, Pablo Heras-Casado, among others.
Currently in his trial time as principal clarinet in Phion orkest (The Netherlands)
