Alberto Sánchez García

Alberto Sánchez was born in 1998 in Madrid, and raised in Illescas, Toledo (Spain). He started playing clarinet when he was 7 years old in Illescas' wind orchestra. His first steps were under the guidance of Carlos Pérez and Gemma González.

He graduated from his bachelor’s degree in 2020, in the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, with professors Justo Sanz and Pedro Rubio. During his academic career he also attended several masterclasses with Matthias Schorn, Vicente Alberola, Nikita Vaganov, Vitor Matos, Antonio Lapaz, Luís Gomes.

He has won awards as: first prize in the III International Bass clarinet competition in Ávila, Spain, in 2018 and in 2019 he won first prize in the V International Clarinet competition ‘’Villa de Ourense’’, in Ourense, Spain.

He is a member of the EUYO since 2019, and JONDE (Spanish Youth Orchestra) since 2018. Also, he has done collaborations with professional orchestras like ORCAM (Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid). In orchestra, he has been conducted by Marin Alsop, Vasily Petrenko, Stéphane Denève, Pablo Heras-Casado, among others.

He is currently enrolled as a first-year Master student in Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Arno Piters as tutor, and also receiving lessons from Davide Lattuada.
