Ángel Martín Mora
Ángel Martín is a 21-year old Spanish clarinetist and member of the European Union Youth Orchestra for the third consecutive year. Studying the Bachelor Degree at the Colburn School of Los Angeles (USA), he develops a career as soloist, achieving numerous competition prizes such as the First Prize at Competition ‘Juventudes Musicales’(2019), First Prize at Vandoren Emerging Artist (2020), First Prize at First International Clarinet Competition ‘Guy Deplus’(2021) and Second Prize at International Porto Clarinet Competition (2018). Moreover, he has played as soloist the Mozart Clarinet Concerto and the Spohr Clarinet Concerto no. 4. Regarding his orchestra career besides EUYO, he is member of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra since 2018, reserve member of Schleswig-Holstein Festival’s Orchestra since 2019 and he has played in several Spanish professional orchestras such as the Madrid Symphonic Orchestra, the Spanish Radio Orchestra and the Madrid Community Orchestra. He has been conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Vasily Petrenko, Stéphane Denève, Pablo Heras-Casado, Péter Eötvos, James Conlon, András Schiff and Jukka-Pekka Saraste, among others.
Before going to America, Ángel studied for two years at the prestigious Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid with Michel Arrignon and Enrique Pérez, where he was awarded the most outstanding Clarinet student in 2018 and where he developed a great chamber music experience with teachers such as Gustavo Núñez, Radovan Vlatkovic, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Klaus Thunemann, Radek Baborak, Stefan Dohr, Marta Gulyas, Alexander Lonquich and Menahem Pressler.
Currently, he is also working on his first digital album by the recording label Orpheus Classical.
