David Santos Luque
David was born in 2001 in Córdoba (Spain). He started to study double bass being 5 years old with his teacher Jose Antonio Luque.
Some important musicians in his formation have been Edicson Ruiz, Andrew Ackerman, Giuseppe Ettore, Thierry Barbé, Ander Perrino, Ángel Santafé, Antonio Torres Olmo, Julio Pastor, Uxia Martínez, Nabil Shehata and Vitan Ivanov.
He has won prizes as “Best interpretation of a work of the 20/21th century” at “VII Concurso Nacional de jóvenes intérpretes” in Cuenca and the first prize in contests in Osuna and Jeréz de la Frontera.
He studies at the Barenboim-Said Academy of Orchestral Studies in Sevilla.
He is member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), 1st double bass member of the Youth Spain Orchestra (JONDE), the Youth Córdoba Orchestra (OJC), the Youth Andalucía Orchestra (OJA), the “Orquesta Simfònica Segle XXI” and the “Cordobaroque Ensemble” of Professional Conservatory of Music Of Córdoba.
He has played as soloist with the Youth Córdoba Orchestra and the Córdoba Orchestra, interpreting Hoffmeister and Koussevitzky concerts.
