Rasmus Støier Andersen
Rasmus Støier Andersen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1997. He began playing the cello at the age of five, and has since studied privately with Steffen Helmuth Madsen and Henrik Brendstrup before entering the class of Toke Møldrup at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2017, where he has studied since.
Through different masterclasses Rasmus has been been taught by multiple international cellists including Boris Andrianov, Andreas Brantelid, Alexander Ramm and Melissa Phelps. As a soloist he has performed with different danish youth orchestras, including a concert with DUSIKA in Tivolis Concert Hall, performing the Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto.
Rasmus has active in multiple Danish youth orchestras, primarily in DUEN (The Danish Youth Ensemble), with whom he has toured with multiple symphonic programs and worked with soloists Viktoria Mullova, Håkan Hardenberger and others.
As a chamber musician, Rasmus has won one 1st prize and two 2nd prizes at Køge Chamber Music Competition and is now a member of the string quartet, Resonans.
Rasmus has since 2019 been a member of EUYO - European Union Youth Orchestra.
