Eva Ghelardi, born in 2000, started to play violin at age 3 with the Suzuki method.
She is now attending the final year of her master studies with Francesca Monego in Novara (ISSM Conservatorio Guido Cantelli), after finishing her bachelor studies with top grades. Eva has won first prize in many national and international violin competitions, and has also attended numerous violin and chamber music masterclasses with Zakhar Bron, Amiram Ganz, Simone Bernardini, Veronika Eberle, Ermir Abeshi, Alan Brind, Maurizio Sciarretta, Oliver Kipp. From 2012 to 2017 she has played in FuturOrchestra, an orchestra part of El Sistema, a music-education program created by Maestro José Antonio Abreu and brought in Italy by Maestro Claudio Abbado.
Here she played with conductors Alessandro Cadario, Pietro Mianiti, Ennio Morricone and Kristiina Poska and soloists Katia and Marielle Labèque, Jeffrey Swann and Gabriele Cassone. From 2015 to 2017 she took part in the Peter De Grote festival Summer Academy in Groningen where she studied with Emmy Verhey, Chris Duindam, Moshe Hammer, Eva Stegeman, Veselina Manikova, Nata Tsvereli, Jacobien Rozemond, Ilona Sie Dhian Ho, Harro Ruijsenaars, Johannes Leertouwer, Igor Roma.
From 2017 she is a member of Camerata Ducale Junior (CDJ), a youth chamber orchestra based in Vercelli with a full schedule of concerts, where she plays also as a soloist. In 2018 she won the audition to take part in the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra, where she played for two consecutive editions of the festival, after being invited back in 2019. Here she played with renowned soloists Mischa Maisky and Richard Goode, and under the baton of Alain Altinoglu, Ken-David Masur, James Gaffian and Stanislav Kochanovsky (with whom she played as concertmaster in the Magic Flute opera in 2019).
