Marta Dettlaff was born in 2001 in Gdańsk. She started playing the violin at the age of 4 in the class of Anna Podhajska at the Suzuki School. She currently studies at the Academy of Music in Łódź in the class of professor Łukasz Błaszczyk.
Marta has taken part in many orchestral projects, including the Lutosławski Youth Orchestra (Poland) and the Jugendsymphonieorchester Tulln (Austria). In 2020, she was selected as a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra. She has performed in many famous concert halls across Europe including the Royal Albert Hall, Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus.
Alongside playing orchestrally, Marta has won various awards in both solo and chamber music competitions. Some of the most significant include 1st Prize and Grand Prix in The Polish Music Competition of Wanda Wiłkomirska in Częstochowa (2020), 1st Prize and Grand Prix in the International “Talents for Europe” Competition Duets Category in 2017 and 1st Prize in 2019. These awards led to opportunities to perform as a soloist with orchestras including the Chamber Philharmonic of Witold Lutosławski in Łomża, Slovak Sinfonietta, and Youth Suzuki Orchestras in Iceland and Denmark.
