Davide Testa

Born in Varese, Italy, in 1993, Davide began playing percussion at the age of 12 in the local wind band.

He pursued his Bachelor (2015) and Master (2017) degrees at Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, with professors Bernhard Wulff and Julian Belli; and he focused on timpani and orchestral studies in the same institute with professor Lorenzo Malacrida. He is now attending the post-graduate course at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with professor Gregory Lecoeur, from 2019. He also attended masterclasses with Nick Woud, Raymond Curfs, Domenico Melchiorre and Johannes Fischer.

He joined the EUYO during Spring Tour 2020.

Active as a freelance musician, he is currently timpani substitute at Teatro Petruzzelli orchestra in Bari, Italy, as well as percussion substitute at Teatro Carlo Felice orchestra in Genova, Italy. Other professional collaborations include Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana (OFI) from 2019 onwards, and in 2018 with Kuopion Kaupunginorkesteri in Kuopio, Finland. He was also a 2016 member of Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (Italian Youth Orchestra, OGI), and from 2017 he collaborates with Orchestra Senzaspine youth orchestra in Bologna, Italy.
