David Seixas

David Seixas, born in 1999, is a graduated portuguese violinist from the School of Apllied Arts of the Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute. Currently working as an active orchestral and chamber musician, as well as solo performer.

David was prize winner in 2017, 2018 and 2019 in the Folefest Festival contest and the National Contest of Montijo in solo and chamber music category. Following on from this, David performed in laureate concerts in ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management recorded by Antena 2 and a Young Talents concert inserted in the International Music Festival of Paços de Brandão.
In 2020, David signed contract with the classical label Centaur Records, recording his first solo album “Serene Bach”.

David has worked with international renowned professionals such as conductors Lorenzo Viotti, Osvaldo Ferreira, Joana Carneiro, Peter Askim, Jan Wierzba, Peter Stark, Julien Benichou and Dietrich Paredes in the main portuguese venues such as Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Casa da Música, Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, Europarque, Salão Árabe in Palácio da Bolsa, Theatro Circo and Teatro das Figuras.

His taste for contemporary music leads him to be a violinist in Quartz Quintet, a group founded in 2017 where mostly contemporary works are performed.
David is an active member of the Portuguese Philarmonic Orchestra since 2017 and member of the European Union Youth Orchestra since 2020.
