William Morley

Will is a 23-year-old trombone player from London. Will received a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music and graduated in October 2020. Will studied with Eric Crees, Peter Gane, Chris Houlding and Peter Moore. In Will’s third year of his studies, he went on an Erasmus exchange to the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien (University of music and performing arts, Vienna) under Dietmar Küblböck (Principal trombone of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra).
In 2016 Will became the Bexley Young Musician of the year and has since played both the Ferdinand David trombone concerto and the Lars-Erik Larsson concerto with the Sidcup Symphony Orchestra. Will has played in many venues across Vienna and London such as the Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, The Barbican and the Royal Festival Hall.
Will has been a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra for 2020 and 2021 and was reserve member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester for 2019. As an orchestral musician, Will has played under the likes of Simon Rattle, Valery Gergiev, Marin Alsop and many more. This includes as principal trombone of the GSMD symphony orchestra, principal trombone of the Young Musician Symphony Orchestra and a previous tour with EUYO.
As a keen chamber musician, Will has given recitals with his brass quintet across the UK. His brass quintet recorded a performance for radio broadcast for BBC radio 3 “Total immersion: Anders Hillborg” Programme.
