Andrieș Cigulea

Andrieș Cigulea is a romanian-moldavian violist, based in Austria. Since a young age he started his musical studies in Chișinău, Moldova, under the guidance of Nicolae Buinovschi (violin), Vladislav Margine and Anna Trofimova (viola). He currently continues his studies at “Gheorghe Dima” National Music Academy, Cluj Napoca and “Gustav Mahler” Privatuniversität für Musik, Klagenfurt, working with the internationally acknowledged violists Aida-Carmen Soanea and Traian Boală
During his past years in the classical music field, the young violist has been perceived as a musician with great artistic potential, possessing the required abilities to succeed in a classical musical career, emphasizing his cultural heritage.
Member since 2018 in the Romanian National Youth Orchestra, having the opportunity to work with great classical music personalities, such as Cristian Mandeal, Horia Andreescu, Michael Sanderling and Alexander Sitkovetsky, performing in important locations (Elbphilharmonie, Bozar Hall, Romanian Atheneum, Konzerthaus Berlin, etc).
In the year 2019, he is accepted as a violist in the SoNoRo Interferences program, where he worked with Frans Helmerson, as part of a chamber music masterclass.
Starting with 2020, Andrieș is a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra.
Although music holds a vital and passionate place, he is a person with broad and diverse perspectives regarding a healthy lifestyle, promoting the importance of physical and mental health.
