Orla Kushner

Orla Kushner (*2000) was born in Vienna and started to play the violin and piano at the age of six. She began her musical education under Dominika Falger and later Wladislaw Winokurow in the program for the highly gifted of the Viennese music school system.
In 2016, Orla was accepted into the University of Music and performing Arts Vienna and since then, has been studying in the class of Prof. Lieke te Winkel and additionally, with Prof. Ernst Kovacic and Annette Bik. She has received further guidance through masterclasses with Benjamin Schmid, Stephan Picard, Jan Talich, Esther Hoppe and Ida Bieler. Orla is passionate about Ancient Music and also studies baroque violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Prof. Hiro Kurosaki.
Orla has served as concertmaster of the lower Austrian Youth Orchestra, the Camerata con Brio and associate concertmaster of the Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra, with which she has performed in the Wiener Musikverein and Konzerthaus. She has won multiple first prizes and special awards at Austria’s most important youth competition, Prima la Musica. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed at festivals such as the International Pablo Casals Festival, isa, Festival con Anima and the Allegro vivo Festival.
