Rodrigo Costa was born in Porto in 1999. He started his horn studies in 2010 at Academia de Música Vale de Cambra with Professor Marco Maia, in 2015 he continued his studies at Escola Profissional de Música de Espinho with Professor Bernardo Silva.
In 2017 he joined the class of Professor Radovan Vlatkovic at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, where he completed his degree. In 2021 he started his master's degree in performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart with Professor Christian Lampert.
He has participated in master classes with the most renowned horn teachers like Stefan Dohr, Radek Baborák, Will Sanders, Frøydis Ree Wekre, Fergus McWilliam, Rodolfo Epelde, José Vicente Castelló, Ricardo Matosinhos, among others.
He has worked with some of today's most renowned conductors such as Christoph-Mathias Mueller, Gergely Madaras, Vasily Petrenko, Marin Alsop, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Pablo Heras Casado, David Afkham, Víctor Pablo Pérez, Pedro Carneiro, among others.
He has also had the privilege of playing in festivals and young orchestras, in 2017 with the Young Portuguese Orchestra with a tour to Konzerthaus Berlin as part of the famous festival, Young Euro Classic in Berlin.
In 2018 Young European Union Orchestra with a concert in Dresden Frauenkirche. Also this year, participated in the Internationale MusikAkademie in Liechtenstein.
In 2019, guest musician with the Spanish National Orchestra.
In 2020, 2021 and 2022, member of the young orchestra of the European Union. As well as, European Philarmonic of Swizzerland.
