Katarina Kralj started to play the violin at the age of 7. She soon started attending various national and international music competitions. After finishing primary school, she enrolled at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet, where she continued her studies. At the same time, she studied for two years with Prof. Iliya Gruberto in Portogruaro, Italy as part of Scuola di perfezionamento musicale. She also attended the University of music and performing arts Graz (KUG), where she was enrolled in the preparation class of Prof. Regina Brandstatter. Katarina than continued her education at Academy of music Ljubljana with prof. Vasilij Meljnikov. Now she is studying at University of music and performing arts Vienna in the class of prof. Ioana Cristina Goicea.
Throughout her education, Katarina has won more than 15 first and second prizes at national and international competitions such as Young Virtuoso Zagreb, Ars Nova, Temsig, Sremska Mitrovica, Varallo,...
Since January 2019 Katarina played as a substitute on various projects of the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra . She was a member of Mediterranean Youth Orchestra in 2019 and is a member of European Union Youth Orchestra since 2020.
In December 2021 Katarina got an opportunity to play as a soloist with Chamber orchestra of Academy of music Ljubljana and performed W. A. Mozart Violin concerto no. 5 on several occasions.
