1 and 3 December 2016 - An EUYO brass & percussion ensemble performed in the United Arab Emirates under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the founding of the UAE.
On 1 December 2016 members of the Brass and Percussion Ensemble performed in Abu Dhabi's National Theatre and subsequently, on 3 December, at the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation in Dubai. In Dubai the Orchestra was presented with a commemorative glass by the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation. We were delighted to be returning to the United Arab Emirates following the EUYO’s Arab world debut in 2014 at the Abu Dhabi Festival, a visit made possible by the generous invitation and support of the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, and its Founder H.E. Hoda l. Al Khamis-Kanoo.
The December 2016 performances featured music specially programmed for the anniversary celebration, with compositions from Austria, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, UAE, UK and the US, performed by Austrian, Belgian, Bulgarian, Danish, Italian, Hungarian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish and UK EUYO members. Further details can be found here.
