From November 18 to 23, the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) will visit Cuba for the first time! Celebration is the title of the unique concert that the EUYO will offer in Cuba on November 22 at 8 pm in the Cathedral of Havana and that will be dedicated to the Cuban capital on its 500th anniversary. With the EUYO, which will be conducted by Emily Davis, will also perform the ISA Symphony Orchestra, attached to the Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana, under the guidance of José Antonio Méndez.
This project will be an exceptional opportunity to appreciate the performance of more than 70 musicians from both continents, in a program where works by renowned European composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Erwin Schulhoff and Ralph Vaughan Williams will be combined with pieces of Cuban composers such as the consecrated Moisés Simons and the young Jenny Peña.
