The European Union Youth Orchestra takes your privacy seriously. We are committed to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

General Information

In general, you can visit our site without having to declare your identity or provide personal information. However, we will ask you for information if you decide to fill out one of our contact forms or mailing list sign-up forms. The relevant fields are clearly marked on each contact form, with a minimum of compulsory fields. We only store this data for as long as is necessary to handle your enquiry and provide you with good service.

General contact emails are sent by you to info@euyo.eu, where they may be forwarded to the EUYO team member best able to help you with your question.

The EUYO will never give your data or information to third parties (including to our partners) without your explicit permission to do so.

You can ask for any or all of your data to be deleted at any time by sending a mail to info@euyo.eu. We will reply confirming the successful deletion.

Newsletter

We store our mailing list sign-ups using MailChimp. Based in the USA, MailChimp participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S Privacy Shield Framework. Its full privacy policies are available here.

Airtable

Our website uses the Airtable API to pull data for certain features and functionalities. Some of this data is pulled live when you visit specific pages, while other data is pre-pulled during website deploys to reduce API calls.

The data we retrieve and display from Airtable includes the orchestra’s archive of alumni, projects, and concerts. It also includes current members, staff, and guest artists. This information includes names, photos, and biographies.

However, it is important to note that while this data is displayed on our site, we do not collect or store any personally identifiable information (PII) about you, the visitor, during the process of retrieving this data from Airtable.

Social Media Links and Social Sharing

This website can lead you, via links, to third party social media sites. It is also possible for you, if you want to, to share our content on these sites. No personal data is transferred when you visit a social media site from our site, unless you are pre-logged in to the social networks; if you wish to avoid unnecessary data transfer, you need to log out of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. before visiting them from our site. Once you are in the third party site, you are in the domain of their own privacy policies.

Matomo (www.matomo.org) is a service offered by InnoCraft Ltd, located at 150 Willis St, 6011 Wellington, New Zealand.

The purpose and extent of data processing: Matomo uses cookies to identify you and subsequently generate user statistics based on your activities on our website.

  • The user’s IP address, anonymised by removing the last two bytes
  • The accessed page and the time of access
  • The page that led the user to our website (referrer)

Matomo places the following cookies on your device:

  • Name: _pk_id, Duration: 13 months, Purpose: To store user-specific details, such as the unique user ID.
  • Name: _pk_ses, Duration: 30 minutes, Purpose: Temporary storage of data for the visit.
  • Name: mtm_consent, Duration: 30 years, Purpose: Storage of consent for user statistics.

Legal basis for processing: Your data is processed based on your consent. Your consent for web analysis is stored in the “local storage” of your web browser. To revoke consent, clear your local storage and refresh the page.

Data recipients: The data collected with Matomo is stored on our own servers and is not shared with third parties.

Embedded YouTube Videos
We embed videos from YouTube on our website using YouTube’s enhanced privacy mode (using youtube-nocookie.com URLs). This mode may set cookies on your computer once you click on the YouTube video player, but YouTube will not store personally-identifiable cookie information for playbacks of embedded videos using the enhanced privacy mode.

What this means for you:

In enhanced privacy mode, YouTube may still set cookies on your device, but the data collected will not be used to personalise your viewing experience. The cookies are used for purposes such as measuring bandwidth to improve the viewing experience and gathering video statistics.

Your consent:

We value your privacy and strive to ensure transparency in the data we collect. Therefore, we do not load these YouTube videos until we receive your explicit consent via our cookie consent popup. This means that no information is transferred to YouTube unless you consent to it.

 

Cloudinary
We utilise Cloudinary, a cloud-based service, for hosting and delivering images on our website. Cloudinary provides us with the ability to optimise and deliver images efficiently, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.

What this means for you:

Cloudinary does not collect personally identifiable information (PII) from you as a visitor. The service primarily focuses on the management and delivery of website assets like images. However, it may collect data related to the request of assets, such as IP addresses, for the purpose of delivering the assets efficiently and securely. This data is used strictly for the operational requirements of the service and is not shared with third parties.
