Model Sharing Symposium 2023
EUYO’s commitment to model sharing is part of our commitment to excellence. The benefits of sharing cognitively diverse ideas are widely known; deployed well and balanced with mutual understanding, it leads to better and faster problem-solving, greater innovation and more creativity.
On October 13th 2023, we therefore ran a free-of-charge online Model Sharing Symposium for youth music managers throughout EU, and the Creative Europe participating countries Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Georgia, Iceland, Norway, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine and Tunisia.
Guest presenters included EUYO Wellbeing Coach in Residence Dinka Migić-Vlatković, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Sistema Cyprus Nikoletta Polydorou, Director of the Academy for Impact through Music Fiona Cunningham, Hugo Ticciati of the O/Modernt Chamber Orchestra & Festival, Detlef Grooß the President of the Orchester des Wandels, and EUYO Executive Team members Marshall Marcus, Simona Biancu and Riitta Hirvonen. And we discussed:
- Welcome keynote: we are all different, have different experiences and different insights to offer. We also share a common purpose: providing young people with musical opportunity. When we all share how we do our work, we’re all better off!
- Orchestra Wellbeing Surgery: how to best support the children and young people in our care
- Skills young musicians need for future-proof careers, which will be held in two parts:
- Fundraising best practice, in both public and private funding.
